Dr. Bianca Bailey has over 20 years of musicianship. A multi-instrumentalist, she plays saxophone, clarinet, trumpet and flute. A classically trained clarinetist she soon developed a love for the saxophone after her high school band director told her to teach herself. Dr. Bailey was a member of the illustrious Townview High School Big “D” Marching Band in Dallas, Texas.
She received a music scholarship from Howard University’s Showtime Marching Band. There she played trumpet and clarinet. She later graduated from Howard University in 2012 with her degree in Chemical Engineering.
On the stage Dr. B is more commonly known as “Bianca on Sax”. In 2022 she started a girl band in Champaign, Illinois called the “Maji Collective”. They have performed at the famous “Canopy Club” at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She also headlined her first show at the famous “Rose Bowl Tavern” in Urbana, Illinois. She has also performed for the Juneteenth Festival in Bloomington, Illinois. Her favorite places to play have been London, England and Ghana, West Africa.
